Fireweed (Epilobium angustifolium L.) contains vitamins A, B5, B6, B9, РР, as well as minerals potassium, calcium, magnesium, phosphorus, iron, manganese, copper and zink.

Fireweed tea has been used for herbal tea preparation in Russia for centuries. It is know for pleasant taste. Also, as opposed to the traditional black tea, it doesn't contain caffein and thus does not have those stimulation properties. On the contrary, leaves and flowers of fireweed and their tea have relaxation properties. The tea is also thought to have anti-inflammation, healing and coating properties. These properties are thought to be present due to large amounts of tannins, specialized polysaccharides and polyphenol compounds. Fireweed is thought to be beneficial during anemic conditions. Fireweed tea can be used for applications to different injuries.
